One of the marvel superheroses who have had a movie adaptation is everyones favourite god Thor. The Thor movie which was released in 2011, the film was surprisingly true to the comics though there were some key differeces. One such difference is that in the comics Thor was cast down to Eath(like the film) but when he was cast down he was nt only stripped of his powers but he was also stripped of his memories and his identity was replaced with that of Dr. Donald Blake who also meets Jane Foster. In the film the Thor's half brother Loki is unaware that his father was a frost giant wheras in the comics it is no secret to him and his father died in the war during the comics wheras is is a main character during the film. The enchanted piece of armour known as the Destroyer is also far more powerful in the comics as he is a creation of the Celestials which are ancient beings which are far more powerful that the Norse gods. Many of these changes have been made to make the film more engaging and so that it brings far more action to the film.

Another superhero film is Hellboy. Although, Hellboy is not a film made by Marvel or DC as the comic is made by Dark Horse comics. Hellboy differs from the typical Marvel or DC heroes in the key aspect that Hellboy is not a straight up hero because he will fight evil but only for himself whereas typical Marvel and DC heroes will fight because it is the right thing to do. They also tend to be much darker than Marvel and DC films as they deal with things like smoking, drinking and personal evil.

Many American superhero films contain a strong sense of patriatism, a prime example is Captain America whose shield contains all of the elements seen in the American flag e.g. stars and stipes. Not only this but in Iron man there is als the Iron Patriach which s a suit much like Iron man's but pioted by col.James Rhodes, the suit follows the same scheme as Captain America's shield with the stars and stripes. This shows that american superhero films tend to include a lot of patriatism.
